Gardens in a new housing estate in Norwich incorporate features to enable hedgehogs to use them and avoid traffic.

The new houses in Colney Reach, in a suburb of Norwich, have been built by Bovis. The gardens include holes in fences and 'guided tracks' to enable hedgehogs (Erinaceus europaeus) to move between gardens and keep away from the roads. Bovis also offer new home owners a choice of bird nesting boxes: new residents can choose to attract, sparrows (Passer domesticus), blue tits (Parus caeruleus), house martins (Delichon urbica), robins (Erithacus rubecula) or wrens (Troglodytes troglodytes).
